As Jack Armando, the guitarist for My Gold Mask, states in Paste Magazine about the song Dissipate, "[it's] about slowly becoming numb to the daily barrage of negativity dished out through media, etc. Closing off one’s heart and senses as a defensive measure to the over stimulation." With this in mind, we set out to produce a music video that visually represented this sense of being utterly overwhelmed, and what better way to do that then with a bunch of water soluble paint and super slow-motion?!? In all seriousness, the metaphor of being saturated by various colors, representing the "barrage" that Chicago rocker Jack mentioned in his quote, seemed like the perfect approach to bringing the song's themes to searing full color. And, besides the fact that we spent weeks cleaning up, we had a blast doing it!
